ENTHALPY

Entalpy h is dependent on pressure and temperature:

h = f (p, t)

For steam the specific entalpy is given by the diagram in function of pressure and temperature:

  • X: Entropy s in kJ/kg °K
  • Y: Entalpy h in kJ/kg
  • Entalpy in the case of water is approximately function of temperature and is nearly independent of pressure, and can be expressed by the following formula: h = cw x tw

    Where:
  • cw = 4,19 kJ/kg °K
  • tw : temperature of water in °K
