NOMINAL THERMAL POWER OF A COMBUSTION UNIT

The Nominal Thermal Power of a Combustion Unit is given by the following formula:

PHIN = MPV x ( HOUT - HIN )

Where:

  • PHIN: Nominal thermal power of the boiler in MJ/s or MW
  • MPV: Mass flow of water/steam in kg/s
  • HOUT: Specific entalpy of outcoming water/steam from the boiler in kJ/kg
  • HIN: Specific entalpy of incoming water to the boiler in kJ/kg
